Description

Objectives:

  • To review stress importance of stress management options - from yoga, meditation, biofeedback, exercise, getting outside
  • To review the importance of our relationships at home, family, friends to prevent social isolation
  • To review and discuss our own readiness for a change in professional identity as we move form full time practice to possible part-time to retirement

The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity.

David E. Drake, D.O., DMU ’83,  is an Iowa board certified psychiatrist who has worked with numerous physicians over the years on referral by our Iowa Board of Medicine and by the physicians themselves when facing challenges at home, in the work setting, and in transitions in their identity to retirement.  A graduate of The Colorado College in religion and then the Harvard Divinity School, David’s work involves talk work/psychotherapy as well as medication management where appropriate and is all remote throughout Iowa and Colorado.
