Objectives:
1. Following this lecture, participants will be able to identify several conditions related to colder weather to which older
adults are more susceptible.
2. participants will gain an increased awareness of preventative measures to promote winter
safety.
3. participants will be able to identify patients in their practice more likely to suffer an adverse
event related to winter weather.
The Maine Osteopathic Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Lauren Hall, DO is a faculty physician in the Maine-Dartmouth Family Medicine Residency Geriatric Medicine Fellowship in Augusta, Maine, where she has been practicing since completion of her fellowship in 2018.
She is a graduate of the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine and completed her family medicine residency at Penn State Health St. Joseph in Reading, PA. She is also
a Certified Medical Director through the Board for Medical Directors in Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine. Dr. Hall divides her time between providing primary care to older adults in the Augusta area
and providing geriatric consultative care for those referred by local providers. She also serves as medical director of the Maine Dartmouth Geriatric Medicine outpatient office and the Alzheimer’s Care Center,
an assisted living facility in Gardiner, ME.
