Join us for an engaging session that explores both time-tested and cutting-edge interventional strategies for managing pain. This presentation will provide a comprehensive overview of classic techniques alongside the latest advancements in treatment modalities for various conditions.
1. Describe classic and newer interventional approaches for pain (spine, MSK, and neurologic conditions).
2. Review classic approaches for Spine and Joints.
3. Describe new/advanced approaches for Spine and Joints.
4. Describe approaches for sympathetic maintained pain.

The Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians and designates this program for a maximum of 9 AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician's participation in this activity

Dr. Lewis joined the clinical staff at Des Moines University and OMM department in 2007. Prior to this he completed a pre-graduate OMM fellowship at DMU and was awarded the Zinc and Ram’s Head awards. As a full-time clinical educator in the OMM department, nearly 100% of his time is focused on teaching or mentoring students in academic and clinical settings. His specialty is Physiatry (PM&R), including an outpatient clinical practice focused on musculoskeletal care and rehabilitation 100% integrated with OPP.
Dr. Lewis lectures to students, residents, and practicing physicians at local, state, and national levels on all topics relating to Osteopathic Manual Medicine and Physiatry. He has been the recipient of University Teaching Awards, Service awards, and has achieved fellowship recognition in FAAO, FNAOME, FAAPMR, and FAOCPMR. He has served as a subject matter expert for NBOME, AOBPMR, and ACGME; a board member and board examiner of AOBPMR, and the national representative to the Bureau of Osteopathic Specialists as a representative of AOBPMR.
