Michael Lawler, PhD
Dr. Lawler is President of Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) in Yakima, Washington. His four decades of experience in health and human services includes 28 years as a leader in higher education at PNWU, University of South Dakota, and University of California, Davis. Dr. Lawler earned an MSW at UC Berkeley and a PhD at UC Davis. He has authored more than 90 publications on children’s health and well-being, American Indian health, and rural health. He was recently Co-Editor of the American Psychologist for a Special Issue on Adverse Childhood Experiences, and is co-editing a book, Handbook of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs): A Framework for Collaborative Health Promotion, which is scheduled for publication in 2023.
