Mary White, MD
Mary White, MD, is an internist and sub-specialist in Infectious Diseases, now retired from medical practice. She has performed more than 150 forensic medical examinations of individuals seeking asylum. She was previously Co-Medical Director at the Weill Cornell Clinic for Human Rights, NewYork, where she trained and supervised medical students in the performance of these evaluations. She is a physician evaluator and trainer at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, NewYork and at the Tufts Human Rights Initiative. She hopes to encourage other healthcare providers to train in this rewarding volunteer activity.
