Jill Johnson, DO
Jill Johnson, D.O.’07, is a family medicine physician specializing in osteopathic manipulative medicine at the Des Moines University Clinic. She also serves as an assistant professor at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences, where she’ll inspire the next generation of health care providers by teaching OMM courses.
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Johnson completed her undergraduate degree in biology at Simpson College and her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Des Moines University Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her family medicine residency at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa. Her professional career began at Medical Associates in Clinton, Iowa, where she was the first female and the first D.O. in the family practice department, as well as the first physician to offer OMM treatment. Johnson’s innovative OMM treatments led to significant improvements in her patients’ health, with many experiencing faster recoveries and reduced pain levels, substantially impacting their daily lives. Dr. Johnson opened and managed the Medication Assisted Treatment program for Mercy One Medical Center in Clinton, IA from October 2019-June 2024.
