Howard Graitzer
Dr. Graitzer had a solo geriatric practice in Portland, Oregon for the past 20 years and most recently began as an independent contractor for the Kaiser Permanente Geriatric and Long Term Care Division. He has served as a multi-facility medical director for 28 years.
During his academic career he was Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Ft. Worth, TX for nearly 15 years. Dr. Graitzer was appointed Clinical Associate Professor, Physician Assistant Program at the Oregon Health Sciences University and at Western University. Dr. Graitzer serves as preceptor for osteopathic medical students, family practice and internal medicine residents, physician assistant- students and geriatric fellows.
Dr. Graitzer has co-authored a chapter for a geriatric nursing textbook called “Medications in the Elderly.” He has also served as co-principal investigator for a phase III clinical trial on a new pain delivery system. He also received the 2003 Women’s Health and Wellness Award from the AOA.
Dr Graitzer was recognized in the January 2006 edition of Portland Monthly as one of the top 330 doctors in Portland.
