Alyssa Goodwin, MD

Dr. Alyssa Goodwin, MD is a peditrician, pediatric mental health advocate and expert in school health. Before starting Stellar Pediatrics, Dr. Goodwin trained at Children's National Medical Center and worked for 2 decades as a primary care pediatrician in Maine. During this time she developed a passion for child and adolescent mental health. Through her partnership with families and her collaboration with local school districts, Dr. Goodwin is an effective advocate for her patients in her office and beyond.

As Secretary of the Maine School Health Advisory Committee, Dr. Goodwin joined the board of directors of the Maine American Academy of Pediatrics to co-create and chair the Maine Academy of Pediatrics School Health Committee. This has allowed Dr. Goodwin to combine her passion for school health and preventive wellness to better serve the healthcare needs of students across Maine. In addition, Dr. Goodwin currently serves as the Maine Learning Ambassador for the AAP rollout of the "Blueprint for Suicide Prevention." She also participates on state and national AAP workgroups focused on topics including: adolescent transitions in health care settings; HIPAA/FERPA bidirectional consent processes; adolescent substance use, identification, and treatment; and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques in the primary care home.

When Dr. Goodwin is not seeing patients, she is planning adventures with her village of strong women, coaching Girls on the Run, or training for her next marathon. Dr. Goodwin lives in Coastal Maine with her husband, teenage daughter and son, 3 cats, and her rescue pup, Ally.

Alyssa Goodwin, MD, has no actual or potential conflict of interest, financial relationship/arrangement, or affiliation with any entity producing, marketing, reselling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on, patients.
