Karen B. Everitt, JD, BSN, is vice president of Mutual Insurance Company of Arizona’s (MICA) risk team. Karen has over 30 years of legal, medical professional liability insurance, and critical care nursing experience, and history of successfully driving change. Her team contributes to MICA’s historically outstanding service and mission to protect and defend the practice of medicine with research-driven expertise, effective risk assessments and consultation, and pertinent liability and risk management content. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Auburn University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Alabama. Karen is a member of the Alabama State Bar, the American Health Law Association, Defense Research Institute, and the American Society for Health Care Risk Management.
