Description

In this session, we plan to identify how the Northern New England Poison Center can assist providers in managing poisoning situations within their patient population. We will discuss recent trends in poisoning cases since our last update to the Maine Osteopathic Association. We will also highlight particular toxins of interest such as THC, GLP1 agonists, and more.

Objectives: 1. Identify how the NNEPC can assist providers with management of poisoning situations.
2. Outline recent trends in NNEPC poisoning cases.
3. Describe recent toxins of concern.

This session is accredited for a maximum of  1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded.

Christopher Wilkosz is a pharmacist with over 5 years of experience working for the Northern New England Poison Center as a certified specialist in poison information.  He precepts students from the Husson School of Pharmacy, and he is currently in training for a board certification in applied toxicology.
