Learning Objectives:
-Understand how to triage cranial nerve palsies that affect the eye and know the potential systemic consequences of these disorders.
-Know how to recognize temporal arteritis, understand the emergent nature of this condition, and develop a working knowledge of the immediate treatment strategies
-Understand the best practices for treating a corneal abrasion, especially in the setting of contact lens wear
-Be able to recognize acute angle closure glaucoma and understand how accompanying systemic symptoms can lead to misdiagnosis
-Recognize the potential consequences of foreign body injuries to the eye and be able to perform an appropriate work-up in the ER or ambulatory settings
-Understand the potential sight threatening consequences of the "red eye"
-Respect the ocular side-effects and consequences of topical steroid use

Dr. Dasa Gangadhar is a graduate of Albany Medical College and has a Master's in Healthcare Leadership from Brown University. He is a Harvard and Michigan trained ophthalmologist and corneal transplant surgeon. He's performed 35K+ surgeries, including 5K+ surgeries in rural Kansas clinics and hospitals. He is a founding Board Member and Trustee of Kansas Health Sciences Center. He is also the longest-serving Board Member of Grene Vision Group, Kansas leader for total eye care and he has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Kansas School of Medicine for 20+ years.
