He attributes his passion for teaching to his three aunts, who are retired teachers with a collective experience of over 100 years in private and public-school education in Vicksburg, Mississippi. Dr. Nosser is an avid supporter of Southern Miss athletics and enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends.
Dr. Dennis Rau serves as Associate Dean of Osteopathic Integration and Associate Professor of Osteopathic Principles & Practice at SHSU-COM.
Dr. Rau received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the University of New England. He later earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine.
In 2009 he completed his general rotating internship at Florida Hospital East and completed his Neuromuscular Medicine residency at St. Barnabas Hospital in New York.
Prior to coming to SHSU-COM, Dr. Rau served as Assistant Dean of Osteopathic Integration and Associate Professor of Osteopathic Principles & Practice at the Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine and was an assistant professor of OPP at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine from 2013-2018.
Dr. Rau has special interest and training in cranial osteopathy as well as visceral techniques.
Originally from Slidell, LA, Richard C. Calderone, DO, MPH performed his undergraduate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. He earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from William Carey University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a graduate of the inaugural class of William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Dr. Calderone completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received additional certifications in Hypertension and HIV Medicine. He is currently a fellow in the Population Health Training in Place Program, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Preventive Medicine” program. Dr. Calderone is the secretary of the board of directors for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and for the South Mississippi Medical Society. He serves as a full-time faculty member for the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, where he is also the medical director of the FGH Preoperative Clinic.
Dr. Moffett is a rural physician and multi facility medical director. He serves in multiple roles for his organization and his community. He sees patients in the clinic, hospital, emergency room, and long-term care facilities. He serves as medical director for three long term cares and associate medical director of hospice. He is a former president of the MS State Medical Assoc., a Fellow and Laureate of the Miss. Chapter of American College of physicians, and is currently serving as a board member on the MS State Board of Medical Licensure and recently joined the Mississippi State Department of Health as the agency’s Chief Medical Officer. He currently serves as the Addiction Medicine specialist for Haven House Communicare-Oxford, Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center-Oxford, Yazoo Mental Health CDU-Vicksburg, River Region CDU- Vicksburg, and has a private practice at Medical Associates of Vicksburg. Dr. Cox earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University in 2000, and is residency trained and board certified in family medicine. Cox began his career as a family physician for the U.S. Army and in 2006 joined the KCU faculty. During his tenure at the university, he has served in a number of capacities, including professor of Family Medicine, chair of Primary Care, associate dean for Clinical Education, COM campus dean for Kansas City and most recently as interim executive dean and vice provost for Medical Affairs.

Catherine Moring, PhD, RDN, LD, BC-ADM, CDCES, MCHES: Dr. Moring is a registered and licensed dietitian, is board certified in advanced diabetes management, is a certified diabetes care and education specialist, and a master certified health education specialist. She has a master’s degree in Health Promotion and a doctorate in Health and Kinesiology. She is the founder of the James C. Kennedy Wellness Center and currently serves as the Executive Director. She is also the co-founder of Diabetes Solutions, one of the only virtual Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs in the State of Mississippi. Diabetes Solutions serves patients in over 20 counties in northwest Mississippi and sees clinically and statistically significant improvements in A1c and weight among patient as well as symptom improvement in 30 symptoms. She has worked on numerous research projects as both the primary investigator and co-primary investigator. She has written a plethora of grants and has successfully received over 8 million dollars in grant funding. She has over 15 years of experience in community and population health. She and her team recently developed the Mississippi Diabetes Network and received over a million dollars in federal funding to grow and sustain the Network long-term. She serves as the project director for the Network. She is passionate about working with people and communities to improve health, wellness, and quality of life. Her leadership experience extends beyond her work at the Center as she currently serves on several boards and committees. She has a plethora of experience teaching in both the community and university settings. She also has a private practice coaching and consulting company where she works with primarily women who are experiencing health concerns primarily related to hormonal imbalances, insulin resistance, and/or auto-immune conditions.

Dr. (Maj) Ryan Anderson, DO is an emergency medicine physician in Biloxi, MS. He is a Major in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he serves as flight commander and lead physician of the emergency department. He also works part time at Singing River Gulfport and Highland Community Hospital to help serve the local community. He was recently named Director of Ultrasound at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has developed a revolutionary ultrasound credentialing platform for all graduating medical students. Seven years later, having worked as an emergency room physician and disaster fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of Public Health Readiness for the American Medical Association, Dr. Subbarao arrived in Hattiesburg.

Throughout her training, Dr. Lindsey’s research contributions were published in esteemed journals such as the American Journal of the Medical Sciences and the Journal of Clinical and Medical Case Reports. She also actively engaged in various medical symposiums and conferences, delivering presentations on diverse topics including autoimmune disorders and rheumatic diseases.

Jeffrey J. LeBoeuf, EdD, CAE grew up in rural south Louisiana. He is a classically trained hospital administrator, having received an MBA and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Missouri after completing his undergraduate work in Business Administration from LSU. He earned his doctorate in Higher Education Administration at Lincoln Memorial University.
In 1997, he left the hospital industry to begin an association management firm. His clients included the Mississippi and North Carolina Osteopathic Medical Associations, The Mississippi Psychological Association, The Mississippi Society of Association Executives and the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine. After accepting university employment in 2009, Jeffrey kept only one client, the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine, from his management firm. In addition to his work in Association Management, LeBoeuf has maintained a career in osteopathic graduate medical education administration. Since September 2021, Jeffrey serves as the Director of Residency Programs and Designated Institutional Official for SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital in Oklahoma City. From March 2016 to June 2021, Jeffrey served as the Chief of GME and Clinical Rotations at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. Between August 2009 and February 2016, Jeffrey was the Executive Director of the Osteopathic Medical Education Consortium of Oklahoma (OMECO), the OPTI for Oklahoma State University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine; while there, OMECO added 258 new GME positions in Oklahoma and Missouri.
Gretchen Holmes currently oversees all medical education, including graduate medical education and clinical research, for Memorial Hospital at Gulfport. As the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), Dr. Holmes has the authority and responsibility for all ACGME-accredited programs sponsored by Memorial Previously, Dr. Holmes served as the GME Director of Research for multiple hospital systems and as the DIO/Director of GME for Orange Park Medical Center in Orange Park, Florida. Paul Fowler, DO, JD is both a physician and attorney and currently serves as the Chief Risk Officer, US Public Health Service, Department of Health and Human Services based in Washington D.C. Previously he served as Legal-Medicine Officer to the Surgeon General of the Army. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence with Honors from Drake University Law School and is a graduate of the University of Des Moines College Of Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. Fowler is Past-President of the American Osteopathic College of Occupational and Preventive Medicine. Dr. Lovins started working in hospitals in La Mesa, California in 1971 as an orderly. He then trained as an EMT as was eligible to sit the first ever NREMT exam. He subsequently trained as a deiner and has assisted in nearly 250 autopsies. He received his BA in biochemistry from Bethel College in 1978 and was the first ever student accepted to a DO school from his college. He graduated from the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, Kirksville, Missouri in 1983 and trained in family medicine at the Naval Hospital, Pensacola, FL. He did a Faculty Development and Research Fellowship at Madigan Army Medical Center, Fort Lewis, WA and earned a Master of Public Health degree at the University of Washington, Seattle, WA in 1992. Dr. Lovins practiced full-scope family medicine in environments ranging from academic medical centers to 19–bed hospitals in rural America. Dr. Lovins considers his best practice location to be the USS Tortuga, LSD 46 when it was underway for a Mediterranean deployment. He retired from the United States Navy in 2005 after twenty-six years of duty. He then pursued an academic career as a professor of medicine and held several administrative positions, including Dean, William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Lovins served on the American Osteopathic Association’s Committee and Council for Post-doctoral training for twenty years where he fought AOA injustices toward military DOs. Dr. Lovins has studied and played the great highland bagpipes for over twenty years and competes throughout the southeast. He, with his bride of forty-nine years, retired to the Chattanooga area to be near his children and grandchildren.
J. Mark Bailey, DO, PhD is a native Mississippian who attended Millsaps College as an undergraduate and the University of MS Medical Center for his PhD in Anatomy. He attended the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona California and afterwards relocated to Birmingham Alabama for internship and residency. Dr. Bailey was in private practice for 13 years and is now Professor of Neurology and Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). He is board certified in both Neurology and Pain. Dr. Bailey is a past president of the Alabama Osteopathic Medical Association. He is President-elect and a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Neurologists and Psychiatrists. Dr. Bailey participated in the creation of the Osteopathic Pain Medicine Boards and serves as the AOA advisor to the AMA CPT committee. He is the AOA representative to the Federation of State Medical Boards Opioid Task Force as well as the American Academy of Neurology representative to the AMA Opioid Task Force.
Carissa Rosten, DO graduated from PCOM Georgia in 2020 after receiving the “Excellence in Osteopathic Medicine” award. She completed a transitional year following graduation, followed by residency in neuromuscular medicine in New Mexico where she served as chief resident in 2023.
