Joseph Nosser, Pharm.D., BCACP, BCMTMS
Dr. Joseph Nosser is originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with William Carey University School of Pharmacy. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist with the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2019. He also completed a PGY-1 community-based pharmacy residency from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2020. Dr. Nosser is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and a Board-Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS) through the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM).
He currently serves as the President-Elect for the Mississippi College of Clinical Pharmacy (MCCP) in the 2025 calendar year. He is the founder and chief executive officer of RX Wellness Clinical Solutions, LLC, an independent pharmacy consulting firm, which helps local independent pharmacies in southeast Mississippi to implement clinical services and to improve patients’ medication adherence. Alexis Cates DO is a board-certified emergency physician and medical toxicologist currently located in Philadelphia, PA. Soon, she will be returning to her hometown and joining an academic center in New Orleans, LA as emergency medicine and toxicology faculty. Apart from teaching, her career passions include political advocacy, addiction medicine particularly among the pregnant and postpartum population, and perinatal toxicology. Dr. Hood is currently in a private practice, Elite Wellness for Women, an OB/GYN clinic in Jackson, Mississippi. BIO: Dr. Italo Subbarao is a leader in domestic and international disaster response and has provided field and technical support during large-scale emergencies like earthquakes in Haiti and Pakistan, shootings in Mumbai, and hurricanes like Katrina – which brought about his first visit to Mississippi in 2005. Seven years later, having worked as an emergency room physician and disaster fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of Public Health Readiness for the American Medical Association, Dr. Subbarao arrived in Hattiesburg.
Dr. Subbarao joined the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012, serving as associate professor of clinical sciences and Associate Dean. Later, he moved into the role of Senior Associate Dean, and in 2019 became the Dean of WCUCOM. Dr. Subbarao serves on the board of directors for many state and national organizations, including the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association.
Originally from Slidell, LA, Richard C. Calderone, DO, MPH performed his undergraduate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University. He earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from William Carey University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is a graduate of the inaugural class of William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a National Health Service Corps Scholar. Dr. Calderone completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received additional certifications in Hypertension and HIV Medicine. He is currently a fellow in the Population Health Training in Place Program, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Preventive Medicine” program. Dr. Scott is a Family Medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. He is currently practicing with Memorial Physician Group in Biloxi, MS. He is a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist for the MS Gulf Coast area.
