Dr. (Maj) Ryan Anderson, DO is an emergency medicine physician in Biloxi, MS. He is a Major in the U.S. Air Force, stationed at Keesler Air Force Base where he serves as flight commander and lead physician of the emergency department.  He also works part time at Singing River Gulfport and Highland Community Hospital to help serve the local community. He was recently named Director of Ultrasound at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine and has developed a revolutionary ultrasound credentialing platform for all graduating medical students.  He is also Founder and CEO of Conquering The Boards which offers personalized study schedules for medical students to help them successfully navigate studying for their licensing exams while still balancing their core curriculum.  He is a local resident of Biloxi, MS, is happily married to his wife, Alli, who is an ER nurse, and has three children - Arya, Adam, and Ella.

Dr. Joseph Nosser is originally from Vicksburg, Mississippi, and serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice with William Carey University School of Pharmacy. He currently practices as a clinical pharmacist with the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Clinic in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2013. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from Samford University McWhorter School of Pharmacy in 2019. He also completed a PGY-1 community-based pharmacy residency from the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 2020. Dr. Nosser is a Board-Certified Ambulatory Care Pharmacist (BCACP) through the Board of Pharmacy Specialties (BPS) and a Board-Certified Medication Therapy Management Specialist (BCMTMS) through the National Board of Medication Therapy Management (NBMTM).

He currently serves as the President-Elect for the Mississippi College of Clinical Pharmacy (MCCP) in the 2025 calendar year. He is the founder and chief executive officer of RX Wellness Clinical Solutions, LLC, an independent pharmacy consulting firm, which helps local independent pharmacies in southeast Mississippi to implement clinical services and to improve patients’ medication adherence. His professional interests include ambulatory care pharmacy, pharmacist-led clinical services (i.e., continuous glucose monitoring), and precepting future generations of student pharmacists in Mississippi.

Dr. Piazza graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in 2014 and was selected to attend medical school at A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri following.  Finding that emergency medicine allowed him to care for every age and all walks of life led him to attend an ACGME/AOA residency in emergency medicine at Good Samaritan University Hospital in Long Island, New York (2022 graduate). Dr. Piazza has specialized in training in austere medicine and has deployed to NW Africa as a part of a 6-person ground surgical team.  He enjoys teaching medical students and residents, chasing his two-year-old, and just about any outdoor activity.

BIO: Cindy Brown is native of Jackson, MS. Cindy has worked in the Healthcare field for over 24 years and 20 of those years were associated with The MS Division of Medicaid. She has been the VP of Membership of Toastmasters “Guess Who’s Talking Now” Club Number 3284 for the past 2 years. She has served as the Financial Advisor for The Jackson Rattlers AAU Basketball Team. She is a Youth Leader, Sunday school teacher and a member of the Leadership Board at Grace Inspiration Church; as well as an original Mississippi Mass Choir Member. Cindy has been married for 23 years to Percy Brown III and they have two sons; Percy Brown IV (20) and Peyton Omar Brown (19). Cindy received an Associate’s Degree from Hinds Jr. College and her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management from Jackson State University.

Alexis Cates, DO Related Seminars and Products

Alexis Cates DO is a board-certified emergency physician and medical toxicologist currently located in Philadelphia, PA.  Soon, she will be returning to her hometown and joining an academic center in New Orleans, LA as emergency medicine and toxicology faculty.  Apart from teaching, her career passions include political advocacy, addiction medicine particularly among the pregnant and postpartum population, and perinatal toxicology.  She enjoys traveling and "glamping" with her husband and two sons.

Dr. Hood is currently in a private practice, Elite Wellness for Women, an OB/GYN clinic in Jackson, Mississippi.  He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine.  He then completed his internship and residency in OB/GYN at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

Dr. Hood remains extremely involved in the osteopathic profession.  He is currently serving as a board member for the American Osteopathic Association. He also served as a student and resident member to the American Osteopathic Association’s Board of Trustees.  He has served on the AOA’s Bureau of Osteopathic Education, and the AOA Council of Osteopathic GME Development.  He has previously served on many AOA bureaus, councils, and committees. 

He is also serving as chair of the American College of Osteopathic OB/GYN Bylaws Committee and served three terms on the ACOOG Board of Trustees. 

He is a past president for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and has been very involved in the MOMA since he was a resident.  He continues to serve as the MOMA delegation chair to the AOA House of Delegates.

He has served on two committees of the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. He is clinical preceptor for the William Carey University – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS, where he teaches women’s health topics.  He was awarded the MOMA Preceptor of the Year in 2021-2022.

He also serves on many hospital committees at River Oaks Hospital in Jackson, MS, currently serving as Chief of Staff.

He enjoys life with his wife, Summer, and their 4 children.  He enjoys golf, and water skiing, and traveling with his family. 

Interesting fact:  Dr. Hood, or “Ashley”, was named after Gone with the Wind.  His mother was a big fan of the movie, and her best friend’s name?????   …… You guessed it, Scarlet.  There were actually 5 boys in his high school named Ashley (generational thing)!!

Throughout her training, Dr. Lindsey’s research contributions were published in esteemed journals such as the American Journal of the Medical Sciences and the Journal of Clinical and Medical Case Reports. She also actively engaged in various medical symposiums and conferences, delivering presentations on diverse topics including autoimmune disorders and rheumatic diseases.

Dr. Lindsey’s exceptional clinical skills were recognized during her residency, earning her the prestigious Outpatient Clinician of the Year award for demonstrating exemplary patient care.

Actively engaged within her professional sphere, Dr. Lindsey maintains memberships in the American Osteopathic Association, American College of Rheumatology, and the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association. Her commitment extends to leadership roles as Treasurer for the Mississippi Arthritis and Rheumatism Society and as a member at large on the Executive Board of the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association.

BIO: Dr. Italo Subbarao is a leader in domestic and international disaster response and has provided field and technical support during large-scale emergencies like earthquakes in Haiti and Pakistan, shootings in Mumbai, and hurricanes like Katrina – which brought about his first visit to Mississippi in 2005.  Seven years later, having worked as an emergency room physician and disaster fellow at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and director of Public Health Readiness for the American Medical Association, Dr. Subbarao arrived in Hattiesburg.
Dr. Subbarao joined the WCU College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2012, serving as associate professor of clinical sciences and Associate Dean.  Later, he moved into the role of Senior Associate Dean, and in 2019 became the Dean of WCUCOM.  Dr. Subbarao serves on the board of directors for many state and national organizations, including the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association.

Originally from Slidell, LA, Richard C. Calderone, DO, MPH performed his undergraduate studies at Southeastern Louisiana University.  He earned a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree from William Carey University, as well as a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.  He is a graduate of the inaugural class of William Carey University’s College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he was a National Health Service Corps Scholar.  Dr. Calderone completed his residency training in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The University of Mississippi Medical Center and received additional certifications in Hypertension and HIV Medicine. He is currently a fellow in the Population Health Training in Place Program, through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s “Preventive Medicine” program.  Dr. Calderone is the secretary of the board of directors for the Mississippi Osteopathic Medical Association and for the South Mississippi Medical Society.  He serves as a full-time faculty member for the Forrest General Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, where he is also the medical director of the FGH Preoperative Clinic.

Dr. Scott is a Family Medicine physician with over 20 years of experience. He is currently practicing with Memorial Physician Group in Biloxi, MS. He is a Certified Culinary Medicine Specialist for the MS Gulf Coast area. He previously worked with the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians as the Director of Primary Care at the Choctaw Health Center in Choctaw, MS and served as the Interim Chief Medical Officer from 2019-2021. Prior to working with Choctaw Health Center, Dr. Scott was in a group practice with Meridian Medical Associates, P.A. in Meridian, MS. During this time, he served as Chief of Family Medicine at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. Dr. Scott is also active in medical education and was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and an Adjunct Clinical Professor at William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, MS. He worked with the Physical Diagnosis course and also served as a mentor to medical students and clinical nurse practitioner students. Dr. Scott also spent time working in rural Mississippi at Lumberton Family Health where he was the physician for the town of Lumberton, MS. He became an integral member of the community and served as a role model and mentor for area youth. Dr. Scott is passionate about men's health and spends a great of time educating the community about prostate cancer. In 2016, Dr. Scott wrote a paper entitled "Treatment Options for Erectile Dysfunction After Prostate Cancer Therapy" for which he was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians in 2016. Dr. Scott was the fourth physician in Mississippi to receive this prestigious honor. Dr. Scott received his BS from Dillard University in New Orleans, LA. He received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia,PA. He received his Master’s in Business Administration from the Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, PA in 2018.
