In this presentation, Dr. Brown will discuss the benefits of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in healthcare. Physicians will be exposed to AI and how it can benefit them in their practice.

Learners will:
•    Increase awareness of key AI concepts, applications in medicine, and practical integration strategies.
•    Promote understanding of ethical and legal aspects related to AI, emphasizing patient privacy, informed consent, and compliance.
•    Build Practical Competence to interact with AI tools, fostering hands-on experience and confidence in incorporating AI into medical practice.

The Missouri Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (MAOPS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians.  MAOPS designates this program for a maximum of 1 AOA Category 1-A CME Credit(s) and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate with the extent of the physician’s participation.

Grievance Policy for AOA Credit:
All grievances should be in writing and should specify the nature of the grievance.  Initially, all grievances should be directed to the MAOPS Executive Director, who will then forward said grievance to the Education & Convention Committee.  All grievances will receive an initial response in writing within 30 days of receipt.  If the participant does not receive a satisfactory response, they can submit a complaint in writing to the Bureau of Osteopathic Education of the AOA at 142 East Ontario Street, Chicago, IL 60611.

Dr. Michael Brown is a graduate of A.T. Still University - Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM) in Kirksville, Missouri. He completed his Family and Community Medicine residency at Truman Medical Centers in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Brown works for Meritas Health in Smithville, Missouri, where he practices Family Medicine. He is the former Assistant Chief Medical Informatics Officer and Medical Director of Telemedicine for Mosaic Life Care. Dr. Brown is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine and Clinical Informatics by the American Board of Preventative Medicine.

Dr. Brown was the first physician to begin providing direct-to-consumer telemedicine in Missouri. He built a team of providers who continue to care remotely for patients throughout rural Northwest Missouri. His interests include innovative ways to deliver health care to his patients and increasing physician satisfaction with electronic health records.

Dr. Brown lives in Smithville, Missouri, with his wife and seven children and continues his family tradition of beekeeping. He also enjoys photography and running, two beneficial skills for any beekeeper. Dr. Brown is a past President of MAOPS, and under his leadership, during the COVID pandemic, he was instrumental in MAOPS switching its CME focus to virtual learning.
