Maine Opioid Prescribing Legal Summary 2024


Objectives:

1. Learn the basic requirements for prescribing opioids under federal and Maine statutes and rules.
2. Learn the basic legal and regulatory requirements associated with Maine’s Prescription Monitoring Program.
3. Improve familiarity with documentation and other tools to manage legal risks associated with opioid prescribing.

This session is accredited for a maximum of AMA PRA Category 1.0 Credit™; 1.0 AOA Category 1-A credits. Credits commensurate with participation in the session will be awarded. This session also counts towards DEA opioid prescribing education requirements and Maine state opioid prescribing education requirements for physicians.
