The Future of Healthcare

Dr. O'Shaughnessy shares his experience and views on the future of healthcare and the profession, and what areas need more focus, with examples shared from his leadership over the integrated health care system he works for, Catholic Health. He shares the impact of COVID-19 on outcomes of care, healthcare spending trends and comparisons to performance, and the major areas that need focus to shift the healthcare pardigm.

Present the major issues that the US healthcare system is facing and what areas must be focused on - access to care, health outcomes, administrative efficiency, equity, care process and workforce development.
Share strategies that the Catholic Health system has implemented to help address some of these issues.
Present views of the future of the profession and opportunities to overcome challenges, build up our health infrastructure, and provider higher quality of service and delivery of care.

The New York State Osteopathic Medical Society (NYSOMS) is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) to provide osteopathic medical education to physicians.
