The Elusive SI Joint
Sacroiliac joint dysfunction is a common diagnosis for back pain but is often misdiagnosed. If the diagnosis is missed, this often leads to failed treatment plans, including surgery. This can be devastating physically, mentally, spiritually, as well as financially for the patient.

Dr. Pieleck obtained his osteopathic medical degree at the Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2009 and completed his Residency training at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, VA in 2012. Dr. Pieleck completed a fellowship in Sports Medicine in 2013, in Harrisburg, PA under founding member of the AOASM and former Penn State Team Physician, Dr. Michael Cordas. Dr. Pieleck has been practicing since 2013. He is board certified in Sports Medicine and Family Medicine. He acquired Access Healthcare in Lynchburg in 2018, which was founded in 2000 by Dr. David Smith. Dr. Pieleck is the head team physician at Staunton River High School, Brookville High School, Appomattox County High School, and William Campbell High School. He is always interested in talking to more high schools and colleges about how to best care for their athletes!
